I whisked my boyfriend away to the Hacienda for our anniversary weekend. I chose the Hacienda at Warm Sands because of the stellar reviews it had received on TripAdvisor and I can now understand why past guests seem to gush about this fantastic place. Our trip was perfect and this was largely due to the friendly owners, Jim and Maurice, and the great staff. They were so much fun and their unparalleled hospitality makes everyone feel special. We planned to spend our nights out having dinner then partying at one or two bars. Instead we couldn’t wait to get back to the Hacienda after dinner to enjoy our over-the-top suite and the peaceful and romantic setting around the two pools. The rooms are truly stunning and have every amenity we desired. Most of the other guests we met had stayed there before and said that the owners are always improving the resort. I stayed here recently by myself and had a great time. The staff is extremely professional and were helpful at every turn. A great hotel is a factor of both good service and nice amenities. The Hacienda has both to the nth degree. The friendly staff made me feel right at home. They came around to my room with breakfast and lunch, both of which are chef-quality. The staff was constantly attentive to towels at poolside and they kept the grounds spotless. I arrived on an unseasonably cool day and reveled in the deliciously heated pool and hot jacuzzi. The room was kingly in size and filled with items any upper-class home would be proud of. I especially liked the big, flat-screen tv with DVD, the fireplace, the little private patio out back, and the welcoming fruit & snack basket awaiting me upon arrival. In the morning, I noticed the outdoor lounge was equipped with the New York Times and other daily newspapers, in addition to magazines and tourist information. My boyfriend and I absolutely loved our stay at the Hacienda. The property itself is very small, only about a dozen suites or so, giving it a very quaint and personal feel to it. The jacuzzi and two heated pools were spectacular. Our room was amazing and had an outstanding attention to detail. What really impressed us, however, was the service. Even before we got there, the staff sent us there recommendations of restaurants and even offered to make us reservations. Once we got there a map to the restaurant was printed and on the table. The manager gave us a tour of the property and our suite and made sure we had everything we needed before leaving for the night. My partner and I absolutely loved The Hacienda at Warm Sands. We stayed during Palm Springs Pride Weekend and were glad that we chose this place. Our room was nicely decorated and had a view of the pool area. The other guests during our stay were pleasant and nice. The owners and staff were friendly and very accomodating. I have stayed at this resort several times and have been treated the same each and every time! They are consistent with their exceptional service. They have a unique way of making each and every guest feel special. Disney has the cap on this market; but I will say that Jim and Maurice, the owners, are a close second to Walt Disney himself! I travel extensively on my own and for work which is about 80% travel. I have stayed at many hotels, resorts, B & B's and I feel that I can definately compare and give good feedback. The owners always meet and greet their guests when they are present and when they are not on property their highly trained staff engage in much of the same. They tend to any need that a guest might have. Tom, Steve and Kaleb each have a wonderful personality and their character is highly admired by many. I would recommend this resort to anyone and I have already done so to some of my closest friends. I only wish I would have came across this property many years ago. My partner and I just completed a four night stay at the Hacienda, and I have to commend the staff and owners for the relaxing, quiet experince we both enjoyed! When we arrived, we were promply greeted at the gate and taken to the office, where we were told that because there was a last minute cancellation, we would be getting an "upgrade" to a suite. Talk about a pleasant surprise. The room was spacicous and immaculate. We enjoyed the use of a efficiency kitchen, dining table, and a terrific living room area. We were poolside, so that was a plus as well. The view from our room showcased a well manicured grounds area. A small area, but pristine just the same. The location of this resort is in the Warm Sands area, and is close to the areas most visitors want to be near, yet is nestled in a quiet area where you don't hear the roar of cars and trucks racing down the road when you are seated outside or sunning poolside. A long time friend and I stayed there for four days in November. We are not partners and were looking for place that where we could relax and catch up on our friendship. The Hacienda turned out perfect for that. The owners and staff create a relaxed, welcoming environment. The setting is pretty and the environment feel safe. They have the balance between friendliness and unobtrusiveness. That feeling seems to be shared by the other guests we met too. The breakfast and lunch were tasty with a nice selection of healthy choices. They patiently answered all our questions and gave good suggestions when asked. One recommendation was one of the best therapists I have experienced. Personally, I am sensitive to reducing my impact on the environment as I travel. So the only improvement I would like to have at the Hacienda is in this area (changing linens only when needed, reducing air conditioning, and planting plants more appropriate for a desert environment.). In short, this is a great option for guys that want a quiet, pretty place to relax and see the sights around Palm Springs. My partner and I spent a weekend in Palm Springs last month and stayed at The Hacienda based on a recommendation from two of our very close friends. They told us The Hacienda was considered the best gay resort and the only place to stay when visiting Palm Springs. How right they were. We were first impressed by our welcome greeting when we checked in, the grounds are immaculately groomed and filled with lush vegetation, the views especially from their front pool (one of two large swimming pools) showcased Palm Trees and the impressive Palm Springs mountain range. Our large suite was in a word unbelievable. The suite had a massive fireplace, a separate large round glass dining table, living room with a jumbo flat screen TV plus our bedroom also had a flat screen TV and DVD player. The bathroom, which we understand was completely remodeled last year, was exceptional - fitted with horizontal water jet sprays and two large shower heads. My partner and I stayed at the Hacienda for 2 nights and wished we could stay there forever. We were pleasantly surprised with the friendliness of the staff and their willingness to assist us since we arrived after they closed. The grounds are very nice and the suites are better than a 5 star hotel. The bed and other furnishings are really nice. The two man shower was a real treat too. They have the softest towels and the welcome basket was a real treat. The place is very quiet just the way we wanted it to be. We were able to do our thing without being bothered. We stayed at the Hacienda for three nights in July this year. This was our first time in Palm Springs and whilst it was low season we would return again at the same time of year. The accommodation was clean, well furnished and spacious. A welcome pack of essentials was provided on arrival which was welcome. The staff were extremely helpful and advised on local restaurants, bars and nightlife etc The pools were warm and clean and pool towels were plentiful. Breakfast was provided each morning and of a good standard. Lunch is ordered the day before and delivered to your room or poolside seat. This was fine but could be improved upon. If you were staying more than a couple of nights you would easily bore of the menu. All in all an enjoyable break, good facilities and somewhere we would like to visit again. My partner and I spent a weekend at the Hacienda in June - our first stay at a gay resort and our first time in Palm Springs - and we loved it. Great facilities (pools, rooms, etc.) - very clean, outstanding service, excellent breakfast and lunch, plus margaritas by the pool one of the afternoons with the owners! We had decided to extend our stay in PS or a few days and as the Parker was sold out, I called The Hacienda, having heard of it through friends but never stayed there. They had one suite left, which we gladly accepted. We got there and were so impressed with the facility, the accommodations, and the friendly staff in particular. Out suite had just been remodeled and had a large bathroom with a double shower, huge living and dining area, and was spotless. There were 2 pools, and even though they were full, we never felt crowded. And the best surprise was that it was about half the price of the other hotel! Definitely worth a visit. We have stayed at several other resorts--they do not compare. Attention to detail, personal service, clean and beautiful rooms with above average amenities, breakfast and lunch are standard here. My partner surprised me with a trip to Palm Springs and a stay at this incredible resort. Wow. I was so pleasantly surprised. First, we were greeted so warmly. The entire staffed assembled to welcome us, give us tips, and show us our room. We had one of the front suites by the main pool, just perfect, with a view to the mountains in the distance. Our kitchen had almost everything we could need, and was very elegant. Black granite counter with stylish cabinetry and decor all around. A huge LCD TV in our living room and a slightly smaller LCD TV in the bedroom, and plenty of current release and other great DVD selections to rent from the main office, free of charge. The staff was excellent. They were especially helpful in helping us plan our trips to Joshua Tree, the Aerial Tramway, and my horseback riding trip through Indian Canyon. They would eagerly print us out details of each excursion, along with mapquest directions. One staff member even offered to have my lunch come early so I could pack it for my horseback riding trip at Smoketree Ranch, since I was leaving before Lunch would be delivered to the resort. The Hacienda is absolutely the best property of its kind around. If you have read my reviews online of other establishments (like Big Riby's in Key West and Costa Rica), let me make it clear that they cannot compare to this property. The Hacienda provides uncompromising quality and not the kind of "nice for a gay establishment" quality. The ten rooms are beautifully furnished and each cluster of five has its own pool. The fireplace suites (highly recommended) are basically small apartments with beautiful appointments, almost full kitchens (just the oven is missing) with granite counters, great beds, a 42" plasma screen with DVD player in the living area and a smaller plasma with DVD in the bedroom. Multi-head showers, excellent spa-quality bath products, fresh fruit and snacks upon arrival, and so much more. Expanded continental breakfast (this means breads, fruits, cereals, juice, coffee, and tea, plus boiled eggs, ham, and cheese) and deli-delivered salads and sandwiches for lunch are included in the room rate. The only thing I think was missing was a nice happy hour wine and cheese event daily. A number of B&B's (straight and gay) typically have this, but The Hacienda did have one such event on a Sunday [...]

Stayed here over MLK Jr., weekend and it was fabulous. Booked the fireplace suite, which was spacious and came complete with kitchen, appliances and two flat screen tvs; one in the living room and bedroom. The pool was heated, and there was even a wine reception on Saturday afternoon, which we missed, but what more can you ask for? Free continental breakfast and lunch!! We even met the owners, who were so friendly and made a special trip out to meet the guests. We've finally found a great place with style and class in Palm Springs. This was our third time at this wonderful hotel and it had been almost three years since our last stay. Because we like this hotel so much we will not wait three years again. Everything about this hotel is great: the rooms, the staff, the location, and the setting. The hotel is arranged around two L shaped courtyards that each have five rooms and a pool. The front area is more open and has an outstanding view of the mountains. The back area is more intimate with lush landscaping. My partner and I enjoyed spending time in each area. The rooms vary in size but all have a nice Southwest feel with tile floors, rustic furniture, and neutral colors. All the rooms in the back have gas fireplaces, and almost all rooms have a kitchenette. This arrangement allows you to set yourself up in your own private casita and bring in some food to cook and some wine (or other beverage of your choice) to drink. One of the things we like most about this property is that they always seem to be making improvements. In Decemeber this year of '06" I spent a one week vacation at the Haccienda, Palm Springs CA. This was my second time at the Hacienda and it was just an exceptional experience,. From the first conact for reservations which were accurate and promptly executed, to my special requests during my stay, the service is excellent. The staff is polite and very caring and you can count on a prompt response, to any request you might have for your stay. , The Hacienda is a beautiful place, with the suites clusted around two swimming pools. The propertyy is private, classy and absolutely clean and fresh. The rooms are comfortable and immaculately clean and kept that way by a very caring housekeeping staff. The breakfast and lunch included during your stay is more than ample and provides you with a great choice of very good food.
