This was my first stay ever at an exclusively gay property and I fear I am spoiled rotten by it and doubt any other gay accommodations could match it. To be honest, I was actually concerned that I would want to be a guest at a clothing optional men's resort. But the Hacienda is a very special place and not at all what I imagined. The 10 room hotel is absolutely first rate from its staff to its beautifully large rooms with their flat screen tvs in both sitting and bedroom areas, accompanying DVD players and a library of music and viewing pleasures running from the classics to XXX. They serve wonderful continental breakfasts as well as 'room service' lunches-- all included in the room rate. The staff is truly pleasant and friendly. The atmosphere is extremely low key and the guests overwhelmingly couples not on the prowl. There is some very quiet nudity but nothing approaching what we saw when we visited two neighboring properties. Which brings me to the only negative I can think of--the Hacienda is smack in the middle of Warms Springs, a gay ghetto which is full of guest houses with wildly different standards than itself. We have been to several Palm Spring´s guesthouses and have found The Hacienda to be far above the rest. The meticulously maintained rooms, pool, and outside areas are complimented by the attentive staff. Its notable that the same staff has been there for years-that creates a level of continuity rarely found in gay guest houses. For a special treat, we spent a long weekend at The Hacienda. I planned the trip to The Hacienda partly as a surprise for my partners 40th birthday. I preordered with the staff to have a large tropical flower arrangement and chilled bottle of champagne waiting in our suite as the surprise upon arrival. My partner and I have been to the HAcienda 4 times, now and we are already booked for another trip in September. Our first visit was for two days, and this year we are staying four, and we would stay longer if we could. There is no other place that we would ever stay in Palm Springs. After a few days we come back so relaxed we cant wait to go back. The vibe is relaxed, the staff is friendly and helpful, with everything from a dinner reservation to arranging a massage. We've stayed at The Hacienda for the last 3 years and have loved it each time. We've tried many of the rooms (each one is different). Our favorites include #8 with a great two person shower looking out onto the private patio. The staff is pleasant and unobtrusvie which makes the stay relaxing. The amenities are abundant and the guests have always been friendly. This is a highly recommended spot to stay in the Warm Sands area. What can I say? I just returned from a three-day trip to Palm Springs, and two of those nights I spent at Hacienda. It was all there: A quiet location, wonderfully large rooms, bedrooms NOT facing the pools nor the public areas, pleasant staff and fellow guests. The only thing that was a little bit questionable was the weather: One day overcast, one day bright sun, and one day rain. But nonetheless, I would stay there again and again. ***** star! P.S. I wish I had stayed there also the third night (which actually was my first in Palm Springs) and it would have been a ****** star stay altogether. P.P.S. After a long winter in Boston, a relaxing weekend in a warm climate is very important. Last m onth my lover and I scheduled a long weeknd trip to Palm Springs. While there we stayed at the Hacienda. This is the second time we've stayed here. As during our previous visit, both the accomodations and staff exceeded our every expectation. My partner and I have stayed at the Hacienda 6 times now and it continues to be one of our favorite places to stay anywhere. We have stayed at a number of the Palm Spring resorts and is at the top of the list. We usually stay in a fireplace suite, but have been in most rooms and every one is tasteful with all of the comforts of home. You will always feel you are more at home than in any hotel room. We tend to start with a 3 or 4 day stay and end up staying longer because we find the resort so relaxing and comfortable. The staff at the resort are always friendly and professional and have a fantastic ability to know when guests just want space. For 3+ years now the staff has been stable, and you can rely on a consistent experience. With 10 rooms and 2 seperate pools, you can count on complete relaxation and privacy if that is what you want. My boyfriend and I stayed there for our first weekend away together four years ago. We loved it so much we go back every year, now with four of our friends. My friend and I stayed at the Hacienda recently which proved to be a memorable experience which we both enjoyed immensely. The concerned, caring attitude of the staff, with a cordiality that seemed so genuine, along with a certain unobtrusive style of doing things, made us feel right at home. When you add the beautiful properties overall spaciousness; the cozy, well appointed suites (ours had a romantic fireplace) put our stay over the top. Combining the Hacienda’s unique comforting appointments, their Pillow Menu, the suite’s style and property’s sense of serenity, simply created for us the perfect combination for a thoroughly relaxing experience. We enjoyed Christmas at the Hacienda this year. What wonderful memories we have of our stay and of the staff. The property was beautiful with huge fresh Poinsettia plants on both sides of our suite’s French doors. The staff took care of every detail, effortlessly with a fun demeanor, including having our favorite drinks and snacks available in our suite prior to our arrival. We met two guys from London during our stay who have since become good friends. The Hacienda’s memories put warm smiles on our faces. We look forward to returning. This was our first time at The Hacienda and it definitely WILL NOT be our last. The accomodations are great and the staff is very hospitable and out going; making you feel immediately at home while away from home. The amenities are wonderful and who could ask for anything better. Breakfast and lunch are a treat; delicious and plentiful. The resort grounds are comforable, well groomed and what great scenic views from the front pool area. Service and cleanliness stand out as well as comfort. The friendliness of staff and willingness to accomodate personal needs is outstanding. The coziness of the resort allows for friendships to be developed, and if desired it can be friendly yet unobtrusive with personal space respected. We made friends with visitors from Paris, whom we hope to visit in the near future. Our recent trip to Palm Springs was our first and we had high expectations. Many of our friends had been to this very gay-friendly city in the past and we felt like we were missing out. Since we didn't know whether we would like any particular guest house, we decided to split our vacation in half and spend a few nights in each of two places (the Hacienda and the Century). The Hacienda is wonderful. The grounds were open and grassy, with two fabulous pools and a hot tub, and a view of the mountains to die for. The rooms were more than spacious, they were full fledged apartments, and very clean and well tended. We had room 2, right off the front pool. We felt quite at home, as we left our door open and causually drifted from poolside to guestroom and back. It was pure relaxation and I did not want it to end. The staff was more than generous with their time for us, and their cheery mood always caused laughter to errupt from the office. It was like staying at a good friend's place. The Hacienda has created a beautiful oasis in Warm Sands that welcomes you from the moment you enter the gate and makes you not want to leave. The rooms, grounds, common areas, amenities – everything is done with a style that bespeaks a love for what they have created, not to mention attention to detail and professionalism. I’ve left not the least for last, and that is the outstanding staff. Steve, Kaleb, Tom and all the other guys are jewels in the Hacienda crown (or should I say tiara?!) who make it truly complete and special. They were attentive yet unobtrusive, friendly and fun yet not overly so. And they dressed like resort boys and didn't smoke! Hooray! From the fun cocktail reception on Saturday night to being taken in the following Sunday night when we were “orphaned” at the airport by a flight cancellation due to bad weather in Chicago (we wouldn’t have thought of calling anywhere BUT the Hacienda), the entire staff was fabulous and made us immediately feel like family. We stayed here at the last minute after diverting from hurricane weather bearing down on Fort Lauderdale. The resort while not five stars in the four seasons sense is excellent. Rooms and facilities were a good size clean and very comfortable and stylish. They are due from a revamp in the bathrooms but clean and tidy there too. The facilities were great with excellent range of movies and books as well as two pools and a SPA. Lunch is thrown in and excellent as well. Though full was not crowded and we made some great friends lounging around the pool. The staff were excellent and every request was sorted in a minute. Well done guys!
