This was my first stay in a Gay Resort and didn't know quite what to expect, well, The Hacienda allayed any fears I had as soon as I arrive. From the heavenly quite location, lush surroundings, exceptional staff, and magnificent suites I was made to feel right at home. I have always stayed in Corporate 5 star hotels, but the Hacienda is something so special, something I can't say I've experienced before, Total Satisfaction! I was so comfortable that I honestly did not want to go home which is most unusual for me. I also noticed that the other guests were most friendly and I had so much fun socializing with them. I visited The Hacienda and stayed there this year, for the fifth time in as many years . My Partner and myself were simply delighted this year again by the beauty of the place, the impeccable service and aspect of the resort. The staff are friendly, professional, very attentive to individual requests, and anxious to do their very best. The rooms are absolutely beautiful, very spacious, meticulously maintained, and luxurious. Breakfasts and lunches are wonderul and healthy, well-prepared, with good variety. My partner and I recently stayed at The Hacienda, and could not have asked for a better experience. The owners, Jim and Maurice, and manager, Steve, went above and beyond to provide us with a memorable stay. The suite was luxurious and the grounds were private and beautiful. Any requests were fulfilled by the staff immediately and with exceptional service. We felt pampered and were treated like family. There are many attractions in the area and maps and directions were provided to all. The restaurants recommended by the staff were great. The location in Warm Sands was convenient to everything. You get what you pay for... I would say Hacienda is not excellent, but at least very good value for money. I stayed here with my partner in september 2008 and we had a wonderful time at the Hacienda. Breakfast (continental) AND lunch (choice of salads/sandwiches...) was included for the both of us which saved us a lot of time. That is not unimportant while vacationing in a limited time frame! The staff were very service-minded and friendly, helping us with reservations and looking up everything they could not help us with on the spot. Both the room and all the public areas such as the pools, lounge, etc. were very clean and comfortable. The only bad thing I can think of regarding Hacienda is that it is a little too far outside downtown Palm Springs with all the action going on there. However it is a common problem with all the Warm Sands resorts and I really think they (the resorts in the area) should try to agree upon some kind of shuttle service going between these two areas. As returning guests from The Netherlands (3rd time) we celebrated this time my 50th birthday in my favorite gay resort The Hacienda. Without a doubt the best resort in the world for gay travellers with high standards. The very friendly staff and very proud owners succeeded in excelling these standards. Everything was just perfect: the fire place suite was an ocean of space, the bathroom very romantic and the bedroom just gourgeous. The sheets, linen, towels and bathropes are of the best quality, a joy for your body! A fully equiped kitchen, state of the art audio/ video set and a open fire place to satisfy all your wishes and dreams. The complementary lunches are the best I have ever tasted. Our rating is a big 5 ***** just excellent! The sunny weather in Palm Springs is realy the icing on your cake. I decided to do a last minute trip to Palm Springs, CA to burn off some vacation time. I was thinking of just staying at the Westin, but figured being alone, it might be nice to be at a gay resort where there might be other people to chat with. All of the staff were very friendly, and knowing I was alone, would go out of their way to introduce me to other guests, not that that doesn't happen anyway when you're laying by the pool. I even felt so comfortable that I went clothing optional a few times, a first for me. The hotel is clothing optional, but does not feel trashy or slutty like some of the other resorts in the Warm Sands area. The rooms are big, beautiful, with plasma screens and a huge dvd library of all kinds of titles. The owners also have plenty of recommendations when it comes to massage therapists, places to eat, where to get a hair cut, and they never steered me wrong. My partner and I have stayed at The Hacienda at Warm Sands several times now. The service is always perfect. Every detail is taken care of by hosts Jim and Maurice and wonderful staff, including Steve and Tom. They make it their business to anticipate what we want and offer it to us in an unobtrusive way. Elegant rooms with full kitchens. Quiet, understated, luxurious. Continental breakfast and full lunch served. They know the best restaurants, the best stores for finding exactly what we want. This was my second time at Hacienda and my opinion from before was only confirmed. Jim and Maurice really know how to run a hotel in a personal and "make you confortable" way. The place is just a great retreat, lets you relax, meet great people and enjoy a very good room and grounds. From the moment I arrived I knew I was someplace special. The Hacienda staff immediately made me feel welcome and accomodated my early arrival. Picture this: after just finishing a career with the US Navy "driving" big ships.....this ex-Navy boy goes back to sea for a 65-day luxury cruise around the rim of the Pacific Ocean (a fabulous voyage!).....but needs a "pot of gold" at the end of that incredible voyage to ease back into the real world. So what does he choose to do: Well, there's no question about it.....He spends a week at the Hacienda at Warm Sands in Palm Springs, CA! This is more than gold.....it's PARADISE! Only the Hacienda at Warm Sands can top a 65-day luxury cruise! The Hacienda at Warm Sands is, in one word: PERFECT! The rooms.....warm, spotless, even more comfy than home. The hotel grounds: gorgeous, manicured, private and "Garden of Eden"-like for gay men. The Hacienda was recommended to us by a friend who had stayed there - which turned out to be a real stroke of luck as we couldn't have had a nicer base from which to explore Palm Springs. This was our first visit to California and we cannot wait to return, primarily because of the great time we had at this lovely gay resort. Tom, Caleb, Jim and all the amazingly warm, friendly staff make every effort to help your stay go smoothly. We were helped brilliantly with everything from sightseeing to bar and restaurant advice. Importantly, they advise where not to go as much as where to go. All the rooms are lovely (though the grand deluxe suites are particularly special - fantastically huge fireplaces). There's a super view of the mountains, and the cable car to the top is a short drive from the Hacienda. Some of the best restaurants and bars are a long walk from the hotel so a rental car is suggested. The Warm Sands neighborhood has several other gay guest houses which we toured one afternoon. What a lovely little gem in beautiful Palm Springs – the Hacienda is in the gay warm sands area, near the center of town. Our suite was gorgeous, lovely design touches, smashing kitchen - I wanted to take it all home – and, what a super bathroom. We had some yummy treats to greet us on arrival and the following morning, a large breakfast buffet with a good selection that included pastries, cut fruit, cereals, and hard boiled eggs. Lunch was even more delightful. In fact, I could quite easily have lived in our newly found paradise. The plantings outside were luscious; the pool areas were spacious and clean, with plenty of fluffy towels available. The staff were all super helpful. I thoroughly recommend the Hacienda and if I ever return to Palm Springs I would most definitely not hesitate to stay there again. We just got back from the Hacienda and have to say we were just stunned with the property. We stayed in one of their largest suites which have a fireplace. This was our third time in Palm Springs, and we were celebrating my birthday. From the huge living/dining room, separate bedroom, fully appointed kitchen, 2 large flat screen TV's and DVDs (living room & bedroom), and huge comfy bed, great breakfast and gourmet salads and sandwiches for lunch, to the free washer and dryer, everything was just perfect. The property is in the quiet residential area of Warm Sands about a mile from downtown. We just can't say enough about the property, and the owners Jim and Maurice. The other staff – Tom, Steve, Caleb, Gene, Arturo, and I’m sorry I’m missing the names of the other housekeepers -- were so very accommodating. We will plan every trip around the availability of this great gay resort because we are surely not ever staying anywhere else in Palm Springs. It's gay hotels like this that TripAdvisor is so useful, if it hadn't come so highly rated we probably wouldn't have known of it and would have gone to one of the larger mainstream straight oriented hotels and then we would have missed a real little gem. The Hacienda is small in number of rooms (about 10), but the owners have done so much to make it a great place to stay. The accommodations are all beautifully decorated and furnished, and most are very large. They have everything that's needed. Breakfast and lunch are included in the rates. Breakfast is an expanded continental and they have lunch catered by a shop in town. Almost all the other gay guest houses and resorts we called only include breakfast or if they do offer lunch, there is an additional charge. Most of the other guests we met had been to the Hacienda before and one couple who have vacationed there for at least six years mentioned that the owners had recently finished a half million dollar renovation of the suites. And, it shows! Amazing two-man showers with 4 showerheads, beautiful tile work in the bathrooms and kitchens, unusual art throughout. High-end hotels like Fours Seasons [...]

Top notch in every way! My partner and I stayed in a deluxe suite that had been completely redone from top to bottom. As with all the suites, it was located next to one of two pools. A small but adequate Jacuzzi was nearby. The suite is spacious, with very elegant and comfortable furniture. There was a very nice mix of guests, both young and older. And the employees are extremely helpful! They serve a nice breakfast and lunch every day. The large grounds are spectacular! I promise you'll enjoy your stay at the Hacienda!
