The Hacienda at Warm Sands is a true gem of a resort. To say that the experience there is phenomenal would be an understatement. This was our first trip to the resort, and we were blown away. It is absolutely crystal clear that the resort has thought through their guests’ needs, and put a lot of effort and time into making sure there are no hiccups in their guests’ stay.

The Grounds:
The resort is comprised of about 10 rooms split between two pool areas and connected via a breezeway (where breakfast is served during mornings). We stayed in the front half of the resort, but both sections have a large pool. The front area by the main door has a jacuzzi as well as a fireplace for the cooler evenings. The back area has a relaxing water fountain in addition to the pool. The entire resort is landscaped beautifully, and most days I would just sit on one of the lounge chairs and watch the hummingbirds fly through, or hear the distant chirping of birds while listening to the soothing sounds of the music over their speaker system. There is also a free guest laundry (complete with supplies) so you don’t have to take dirty clothes back home.

The Rooms:
We stayed in a Deluxe Suite (free upgrade from a Junior Suite). It had a separate living/dining area, kitchen area, and bedroom. It felt like we stayed in an apartment versus a resort. The room was decorated and designed by the owners themselves, boasting an eclectic style of furniture which I absolutely loved. We were greeted with a basket of treats that included granola bars, popcorn, mixed snacks, fresh fruit and water upon entering our room, which came in handy because we got into the area later in the evening and wanted a quick nibble before doing anything else. It was my partner’s birthday and upon our arrival, we found a lovely bottle of wine to celebrate his birthday. The bathroom was stocked full of thoughtful items like mouthwash, lens cleaners and quality soaps and lotions and all of the products were L’Occitane. The bedroom had ample space to spread out our luggage.

Pillow problem? No problem! If you like to be able to pick out the level of firmness of your pillows (I like mine with a bit more sturdiness), the Hacienda has you covered. They have a pillow menu for guests, and the staff provided us with our additional pillows quickly.

Food:
They have an extensive breakfast and lunch menu, all included in the price. The breakfast is usually a buffet with an assortment of pastries, bagels, ham and cheese, yogurts, cereals, boiled eggs and other delightful sundries. We’ve stayed at a couple of other locations in the past, but none provided the quality of breakfast items that the Hacienda did.

The lunch is a special list of items curated by the resort owners and catered through a local restaurant, the Manhattan in the Desert. We tried several options during our stay, and not one of them disappointed us. My partner has a couple of dietary restrictions, and we were able to provide requests to the staff who accommodated them happily. Quick side note, because we tend to forget things, we set a reminder to fill out our lunch order while we were having breakfast. The staff needs a wee bit of time to place the order to make sure it’s ready and delivered to you by lunch. Even the lunch forms were personalized with our names on them….how thoughtful!!!

Staff:
I cannot say enough about how wonderful the entire staff were. They’re quick to respond on any of your needs, chat with you if you like to strike up a conversation, or give you your space to relax if that’s what you want. We love making new friends, and enjoyed chatting with them every day. They are incredibly helpful with recommendations on restaurants and places to check out, and will call to make reservations for you if you like. They even have an extensive library of movies and games you can borrow in the main office. If you want something less “low key,” they have a list of activities and goings-on in the Palm Springs area. We never once felt like the staff didn’t go out of their way to make us feel at home. We also had the incredible pleasure of meeting the resort owners, Maurice and Jim, during our stay. They are truly an inspirational couple and we loved chatting with both of them while we were there and very happy we got to know them better.

Overall, this is the only place we will stay going forward in PS and Maurice and Jim have made friends for life. Thank you guys for such an amazing experience.
