We stayed at the Hacienda for the first time in July 2012 and, by the end of August that year, we had already booked flights from Europe for July 2013 for an eagerly anticipated return vacation to Palm Springs and the Hacienda. Having stayed in a Deluxe suite before, we reserved the same room and arriving this year truly felt like coming home. We had planned to stay 7 nights, but the thought of leaving so soon was too depressing and we managed to persuade the airline, and Steve, to let us extend the trip for another two nights.

The Deluxe suits are just that – amazing. They have fully equipped kitchens which makes it a nice option to eat in sometimes – after stocking up with groceries from the nearby Ralph’s – assuming you can face supper after the breakfast and amazing lunch (all included in the price). Our suite had a private rear patio which was perfect for coffee in the morning and the bed even had personalized cushions with our names on them, really making us feel we were being welcomed back home.

The gardens and facilities at the Hacienda are amazing. The staff are totally professional and discrete but very friendly and willing to help with anything they can, from planning trips and recommending bars and restaurants, to helping figure out how to work the guest laundry facilities. A nice touch was the social evening of wine and nibbles for all guests on the Saturday night. It was a great way to get to chat to the owners and to meet the other residents and led to some really fun nights out in downtown Palm Springs with some of the other guests.

As I’m writing this, I’m checking out flight options for next April and hope to have something booked soon for a return trip. Can’t recommend this place enough!
