My domestic partner and I stayed at the Hacienda at Warm Sands in Palm Springs in February 2016 for one week. We stayed in room nine for $512 USD per night, fees and taxes in. That may seem like a lot for a clothing optional gay men’s resort but the price includes daily breakfast and lunch which makes the price reasonable. Also, the price keeps the unsavoury types away.
Room nine was the biggest hotel room I have ever stayed in, it was absolutely huge. The room included a kitchen, dining room, living room, one bedroom with king bed, fireplace, air conditioner and a rear patio. The room was clean, tidy and well furnished. The wi-fi was flawless.
The grounds were separated into two sections each with a pool and one section also had a hot tub and an outdoor fireplace. The section with the hot tub had a better view of the mountains. Both sections, however were beautifully landscaped, clean and well maintained. Generic lounge music played softly in the background throughout the day creating a relaxing, sophisticated ambience. I didn’t notice at first but after the fourth day, it became apparent to me the playlist repeated daily making some of the songs a bit tiring. This can obviously be remedied by increasing the content in the playlist.
The premises was conveniently within walking distance to the gay strip and downtown Palm Springs.
All the staff workers need to be commended for exceptional service. The staff were professional, friendly and always eager to help. The owners were a pleasure to meet.
The continental breakfast was always fresh, tasty and well presented. The several daily lunch choices listed on the menu were of similar good quality as the breakfast and delivered to one’s room personally by the staff.
The clientele was mostly classy, well-to-do professionals of mature age happily lounging in the nude with their soulmates.
Speaking about naked men, some cruising did occur but not enough to satisfy the partygoers. Speaking about partygoers, The Hacienda is a place where the birds sing louder than the music.
I highly recommend staying at The Hacienda at Warm Sands.
