We are fortunate to be able to travel extensively both in the USA and Europe and yet for all our travels, we keep on coming back to The Hacienda. Having visited each year for the last twelve years, we can recommend this high-end destination with confidence. The owners Jim and Maurice go out of their way to make guests welcome and comfortable and their continuing programme of improvements keep the property in good condition. The cottages around two pools are spacious and well appointed with well equipped kitchens and the most comfortable beds in the desert. The house staff and especially Stephen have a ‘we can do that’ approach where everything from restaurant reservations to laundry is taken care of. On our previous visit, we had some bad news from home and the staff went out of their way making phones and email available to help us out. Their concern was genuine and touching. This year, we left a watch in our room and the staff texted us in Boston to let us know that they would arrange for it to be shipped back to our home in the UK. They wouldn’t hear of us paying for postage. It arrived beautifully wrapped yesterday. A smart destination where old fashioned service with a contemporary twist can still be found. Excellent!
