My partner surprised me with a trip to Palm Springs and a stay at this incredible resort. Wow. I was so pleasantly surprised. First, we were greeted so warmly. The entire staffed assembled to welcome us, give us tips, and show us our room. We had one of the front suites by the main pool, just perfect, with a view to the mountains in the distance. Our kitchen had almost everything we could need, and was very elegant. Black granite counter with stylish cabinetry and decor all around. A huge LCD TV in our living room and a slightly smaller LCD TV in the bedroom, and plenty of current release and other great DVD selections to rent from the main office, free of charge.
The staff was excellent. They were especially helpful in helping us plan our trips to Joshua Tree, the Aerial Tramway, and my horseback riding trip through Indian Canyon. They would eagerly print us out details of each excursion, along with mapquest directions. One staff member even offered to have my lunch come early so I could pack it for my horseback riding trip at Smoketree Ranch, since I was leaving before Lunch would be delivered to the resort. I didn’t even have to ask. Just amazing service. And I highly recommend the horseback riding trip as well. You have to do the 2 hour trip to Indian Canyon, through the Palm Oasis…nothing quite like it. The best way to see the desert!
The Jacuzzi was very nice, but you have to know how to turn it on. At first we thought the jets didn’t work, but later we realized that dial was somewhat hidden by the control shed, otherwise just 2 jets run, and gave the impression that the other 4 jets were broken. We were too shy to ask, or complain, and the next day of our stay, one of the staff members noticed we didn’t turn on the jets..and ran over to fix it for us. We were laughing..and felt silly, because we were just saying how this place would be perfect if only the Jacuzzi jets worked…and then quickly realized that were silly for not asking. We were even more impressed by an already attentive staff.
They have free self-laundry service with degerent and all, and 24 hour spring water. Breakfast buffet is also very nice with plenty of healthy choices. There is no fitness facility on the grounds, but with all the great hiking around, it’s barely missed. They also arrange on site massage.
On Saturday, the owners came by and we had a frozen Margarita party, compliments of the resort. We got to meet other guests at the hotel and had a great time.
There was a nice variety of guests during our stay, both in terms of age, cultures, personalities, and locations. We are both in our early 30’s, and felt that this was the perfect place for a very relaxing, romantic getaway. It’s one of the few times we actually managed to relax on a vacation. Isn’t that the best reason to have a vacation anyway?
