This was our third time at this wonderful hotel and it had been almost three years since our last stay. Because we like this hotel so much we will not wait three years again. Everything about this hotel is great: the rooms, the staff, the location, and the setting.
The hotel is arranged around two L shaped courtyards that each have five rooms and a pool. The front area is more open and has an outstanding view of the mountains. The back area is more intimate with lush landscaping. My partner and I enjoyed spending time in each area. The rooms vary in size but all have a nice Southwest feel with tile floors, rustic furniture, and neutral colors. All the rooms in the back have gas fireplaces, and almost all rooms have a kitchenette. This arrangement allows you to set yourself up in your own private casita and bring in some food to cook and some wine (or other beverage of your choice) to drink.
One of the things we like most about this property is that they always seem to be making improvements. Upon our second stay in our favorite room, number 10 in the back, the kitchen was redone with black granite countertops. This time around, our room had a new bathroom with rain shower, two flat screen TVs, and an I-pod docking station.
The hotel offers a light breakfast and a great lunch with about 10 gourmet sandwiches or wraps to choose from. If you want to relax and hang out, there is no need to leave the hotel until dinner time. Need a paper? They offer about six. Need the internet? A laptop is available. Want to watch a DVD? They have plenty, of all kinds. This is the place to go to just enjoy the wonderful environment that the owner’s of this property have created – such a beautiful tranquil setting.
Adding to the enjoyment is a great friendly staff that is very helpful and keeps everything in perfect order.
The Hacienda is the best gay oriented inn we have ever had the pleasure of staying at – and we are looking forward to a many more future visits.
